Meet my friends Nathan and Katie. I've known these two since my freshman year of college. So almost 9 years now. Man how time flies by quickly.

Lately I've been thinking about a new idea. I thought it would be a great idea to offer a photoshoot for couples who have been married a few years and maybe have gotten overwealmed by life and don't get a chance to get alone. I think that every couple should be able to have a couple hours to set aside work, chores, taking care of family and just be alone. And why not look great while doing that! So when I mentioned the idea to Katie she was ALL for it. Here are some of my faves from the shoot.

By the way, this week is their 8th anniversary!!!!

Nathan is one of the elders and worship pastor at his church. I know, doesn't look like your typical pastor, eh? ;)

Katie is a mother of FOUR! Wow to that!!!

So there is nothing more exciting for me as a photographer than when I have rock star friends who love a cool photo. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THESE GUYS ARE ROCKSTARS!

So most people don't know this about Nathan, but he's got some mad hops. Haha! A little inside joke, but I couldn't resist. You're welcome Nathan!

So I can't decide which of these next two I like the best. Let me know what you think.

Again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! These two are amazing! Rockstars through and through.

Thank you guys so much for this shoot. Seriously one of my favorites. And thank you for your friendship over all the years. You guys mean so much to me and I'm so very thankful that God put your family in my life. Congratulations on 8 years! Praying for many many more!

To Every Cynic

So the other day I went out with a few guys that are in a band together. It was the first time that I've ever worked with a band so it was a bit of a challenge for me in the sense that I had to think differently about the way I worked with them. I'm totally excited about where these guys are going. As I walked around with them I overheard their conversations about other bands, possible venues they had booked, and ideas they had for the future. I love when people are in their element and get excited about it. Here is one shot from the shoot that I'm pretty excited about actually. I'll have more to come later.

25th Anniversary Vow Renewal

So I have now taken photos for this family on several occasions and I must say that it is never a dull moment. I always have a blast. Sometimes I feel like I'm just part of the party instead of actually working. It makes my job SO much more fun! This day was no exception. A few weeks ago on one of our rare beautiful Sunday afternoons Dave and Brenda renewed their vows after, yes, 25 years! I love that. I have had so much fun going through these photos that I wanted to share a few with you.

Of course my favorite place to start.....CAKE!!! And aren't these the most fun cakes you've seen?!

A life of focus...

Today I decided that I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't go any longer without picking up a camera. I didn't have a subject to shoot, but that didn't matter. I just had to push that shutter. Today I gave myself a bit of a challenge. No auto focus. For someone like me auto focus is a must. Today I left my house without my glasses which enhanced the challenge all the more. (No worries friends. I'm not completely blind) So here we go...

As I was walking through the neighborhood I stumbled across this little bush. I quite liked it.



So after MANY grey, rainy and snowy days we have had we FINALLY got some SUUUUN!!! It truely was a beautiful day.



Someone needs to clean their fence. :-/ Yikes!
