Carter

So Carter is getting ready to turn 1 and mom and dad wanted to get a few shots to capture this time of his life. I of course was most certainly excited once I met this fiery little red head. I was even more excited when I found out that this little guy's birthday is just one day before mine. We had such a blast. Of course there is never a dull moment at this age. ;)

Oh you know we're gettin' this thing started out right! All smiles. :D

Carter has an awesome sports themed bedroom. They have all sorts of fun signs on the walls. Guess you know what they think of their little all star.

Nolan&Amanda~Engaged

I had the great privilege to take some engagement photos for Nolan and Amanda. What a great time! We met at this cool trail by an old school warehouse in the city. This place had so many things to look at and great spots to photograph. Of course with these interesting locations came a few treacherous spots. :D These two were quite the troopers and willing to climb and trek through wherever I asked them. I don't think that we could have picked a more beautiful day to take these. I think they came out pretty great. Of course it helps when you have two people that obviously love each other. Hope you enjoy!

Amanda was all smiles that day. Of course I think that Nolan had something to do with that. ;)

Nolan really takes direction well. :D He totally dedicated himself! By the way, did you notice that awesome graphic wall behind them? Yeah, I thought it was pretty awesome too.

I'm going to have to say this one is my favorite.

Happy Mother's Day!

What a great day it was today. Totally relaxed and nice to have nothing to do and just spend some time with the fam. We went to the park and chilled for a while waiting till it was time to be seated for lunch. Of course as the years pass the nostalgia grows and the photo opps increase. So we took turns taking photos of us in the park. Hope everyone had a great mother's day! Here's a look at ours. :D

Smith Family~ Maternity

So I had the extreme privilege to do a maternity shoot yesterday. The main reason that it was so much fun is because Nathan and Katie are some of my best friends. I've known them since I started college and have been so blessed to have shared life with them since then. I watched them get married and have been able to watch all three of their kids grow up. Its so crazy to think that I've known them coming up on eight years. It's truly been an honor to have their friendship.

They are now pregnant with number four. It's hard to believe that the baby will be here in a few short months. Since they have always known what they were having with their previous children, they decided to keep this one a surprise. Any guesses???

So I didn't realize before hand that they had this foot board and wasn't planning on that, but I must say that I think this is one of my favorites from the day.

So the wind definitely picked up when we got to the park.  It was quite cold, but they were troopers and braved it anyway.  A bit of snuggling will do the trick.

Trevor and Rachel

I recently did a wedding in St. Charles. The area was so cool. In the middle of everything is this little chapel with a barn next to it. It is such a cool spot. We were a little apprehensive leading up to the weekend. The weathermen threatened us with rain, but God provided. It turned out to be an awesome day. A little windy, yes, but great nonetheless.

From the time that we met to talk about photos Trevor was a bit reluctant to having his picture taken. Look at him work it out though.


Rachel worked it out too.


Trevor and Rachel decided that they wanted to see each other before the ceremony. This was great for me. We got to have fun and look around for a little photoshoot with just the two of them.








We then gathered the rest of the wedding party to join in on the fun.

Of course let us not forget the cake made by a good friend. And yes was it ever good!

Awakening the Book

I can not wait for a new book that is coming out. Jeremy Cowart was the photographer for a new book coming out this spring called Awakening. He was the photographer for the Passion World Tour and took thousands of some of the most incredible images. I have been anxiously awaiting this book for months and plan on buying it as soon as I hear it is out! Just thought I would share this lovely news. Keep an eye out for it.

In other news, I shot a wedding last weekend and had an absolute blast. I've been working on a few of my favorite shots to post up here. Hopefully I will have them up soon.
